Mentoring and Tutoring Services
CARE Consultants, LLC is experienced and trusted in mentoring/tutoring individuals and groups in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Through mentoring and tutoring, youth are exposed to a positive role model and become involved in structured activities and projects. Self-esteem is strengthened, and individuals create new learning experiences. One-on-one and group tutoring improve academic performance, provide Learning opportunities and academic assessments, and help with pre- and post-academic tests.
CARE is sensitive to the fact that many of our clients have experienced rejection, disappointment and other harm to their respective mental well-being. CARE mentors assist in the healing process, facilitate competencies in the youth and re-direct their energy and emotional functioning toward positive growth. Tutors are thoroughly familiar with the goals and objectives of assessment and diagnostic evaluation.
CARE provides one-to-one and group mentoring/tutoring services to youth (under the age of 21) in any setting where the youth resides, such as the home (including foster homes and therapeutic foster homes), and in other community settings such as school, respite settings, and other culturally and linguistically appropriate community settings
Tutoring
CARE develops effective ILP’s and customizes its tutoring services to address critical academic areas, enabling the student to maximize progress in his/her studies.
Tutoring Focus Points:
- Preliminary assessment
- Woodcock- Johnson, Wechsler Testing Tool
- Individual achievement test
- Review academic record and report card
- Individualized education program
- Conduct and develop interim and final assessment
- Academic progress and instructional accomplishments
- Encouragement and support in higher education or vocational training
Mentoring
Mentoring services include life skills, supporting, coaching, and empower the youth in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution, and relating appropriately to other children and adolescents, as well as adults, in recreational and social activities. CARE mentors assist in ensure that the youth’s success in navigating various social contexts, learning new skills, making functional progress, and engages the youth in discussions about strategies for effective handling of peer interactions.
CARE is able to provide emergency mentoring services within three hours of receiving a referral and can immediately respond to the location of the youth and meet with people who are familiar with the crisis.
Experience and Reliability
Over the years, CARE Consultants has developed working relationships with many community organizations, government agencies and schools. They include Boys and Girls Town, the D.C. Child and Family Services Agency, the National Center for Children and Families, First Home Care, Pressley Ridge, the Board of Child Care, Kids Peace National Center, Maryland Choices, PG County Child and Family Services, and PG Juvenile Justice System.
CARE consultants, LLC, takes confidentiality regarding youth seriously. Any disclosure of a youth’s information in breach of this confidentiality constitutes immediate termination.
