Staff Development Training (Team Building)
For a group to work better together, members must learn to establish team objectives and effective Communication & listening skills. A team understands trust and commitment, recognizes and appreciates contributions, and utilizes the diversity of its members’ roles and responsibilities. Working together, they excel at problem solving and decision-making.
CARE tailors its team building diversity training for group homes, youth facilities, therapeutic facilities, level 2 therapeutic schools, and community-based organizations. The training is designed to develop ways to improve skills and motivate youth, counselors and other staff by identifying the goals that drive them and encourage them to live up to their full potential. We place emphasis on creating an environment for increased productivity while improving morale. Motivating the staff team can be a challenge, but learning to inspire is the key to a successful work life.
Conflict brought on by negative work relationships affect your organizations performance and overall success. Members of your staff who are out-of-sync often contribute to low productivity, dwindling morale, poor attitudes and confrontations. These conflicts are often caused due to the inability to communicate effectively. Contrary to what many people believe, the issue may not just be a difference of opinion. Effective communication is based on knowledge and understanding the core characteristics of the counselor, staff and youth and how their styles fit together.
Participants of the team-building training will be presented with different aspects of team behavior. Individuals and groups will be encouraged to think about what is essential and needed to accomplish the mission of the team, and they will receive instruction on how to identify behaviors and signs that obstruct them from completing tasks.
